The life of a coffee

(Photo Credits: ME - Diary Souls) Coffee started as something bitter. Yet over time, people added milk, sugar, syrups, whipped cream, and countless flavours to soften its taste. Today, there are so many variations of coffee that a simple order can almost feel like a reflection of someone's personality. But perhaps coffee isn't the only thing we've sweetened. Think about the phrases we use every day. "UGH so bitter of you" "Aww, that's so sweet of you." Somewhere along the way, sweetness became a compliment while bitterness became a criticism. We associate sweet things with kindness, warmth, and affection. Bitter things, on the other hand, are often linked to resentment, disappointment, or negativity. But who decided that? What if we reversed the phrases? "UGH so sweet of you" "Aww, that's so bitter of you." It sounds strange. Not because the words themselves are strange, but because we've spent our lives attaching emotions...

The Gift of friendship

Hey, party people! So, I recently hit the big 2-1, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride. But beyond the cake and confetti, what really got me thinking was the crew I had around me.

I invited friends from all walks of life—school, clubs, you name it. The excitement leading up to the party was electric, but there was also a bit of nerves. I hoped everyone would vibe together and have a blast.

The party itself?
Total rollercoaster!
Amongst the laughter and memories, I found myself watching friendships in action like never before. Some unexpected faces popped up, while others ducked out early (hey, life happens).
The conversations sparked connections I never saw coming, reminding me that friendships are ever-changing.

After the party, I was flooded with a whirlwind of emotions. While I felt immense gratitude for the friends who've stood by me through thick and thin, there was also a pang of sadness realizing that not all friendships are meant to last forever (though I cherish the moments we shared).

However, chatting with other friends, I had an epiphany: too often, people allow friendships to fade away without making the effort to reconnect.

It made me wonder why wait for someone else to make the first move?
Taking the initiative to reach out, make plans, or even just start a chat can truly make a world of difference.
Through my experiences, I've come to understand that as we mature, our friend circles may shrink, but the bonds we've forged run deeper than ever before.

As time marches on, it becomes increasingly important to embrace these changes and open ourselves up to forming new connections. After all, life is a journey filled with opportunities to build meaningful relationships.

So here's my challenge to you: let's be proactive in keeping those friendships alive. A simple text or call could mean the world to someone. Let's forgive past slights and make the effort to stay connected. After all, friendships are treasures worth celebrating.

(I understand that some may find it difficult, but it takes courage and determination to reach out and maintain connections. It's natural to feel hesitant or uncertain, especially if time has passed or circumstances have changed. But the beauty of friendship lies in its resilience—the ability to withstand distance, time, and even disagreements.)
